Passive Voice

• The form of the passive voice:
The passive voice is formed as below:
1. Omitting the subject of the active sentence or mentioning the subject at the end of the sentence preceded by 'by or to'.
2. Putting the object instead of the subject in the passive sentence.
3. Putting (verb to be) into the same sentence as the action verb and adding the past participle of the active verb.
The boy broke the window. (active)
The window was broken. (we can say by the boy) (passive)

• Uses of the passive voice:
1. It's used when it's not necessary to mention the subject; e.g.
The streets are cleaned every day.
2. When we don't know the subject; e.g.
The man was caught.
3. When the subject is the people; e.g.
He is suspected
